Abstract

The key role of core enterprises in the economic space of industrial cities stimulates their involvement in the local political process. A comparative cross-territorial and cross-temporal study of the participation of core enterprises in the political life of the industrial cities of the Urals demonstrates the presence of complex and non-linear configurations of such inclusion. The article explains how the «origin» of the top manager, the status of the owner and the localization of control can influence the political activity of factories.
