Abstract
Described and analyzed are nighttime supernatural experiences reported by villagers in eastern Slovenia during the 2000-2002 fieldwork research on witchcraft. A comparison with identical motifs in other parts of Slovenia and in Europe showed that elsewhere, such experiences have been incorporated into different belief systems, especially in the belief about the restless dead. It may therefore be presumed that in the eastern part of Slovenia in a certain period, there was an integration of those belief systems into the prevalent paradigm of witchcraft.
