Abstract

High practical significance of fluorinated organic molecules has spurred a remarkable progress in the synthesis of trifluoromethyl-substituted compounds over the past decades, including a prominent contribution of copper-mediated transformations. This chapter aims to provide a brief introduction into the vast arena of copper-catalyzed trifluoromethylation reactions, highlighting the latest advances and current challenges in the field.
