Abstract

13C NMR spectroscopy has been used to study the microstructure of copolymers of isoprene and alkylvinylketones. It has been shown that these copolymers have a tendency to alternation during radical copolymerization. Statistical treatment of the data obtained has shown that the characteristics of the polymer chain propagation obey first-order Markov stat-istics and the average length of the alternating section depends on the alkyl substituent in the α,β-unsaturated ketone.
