La repartition de la biomasse des copepodes dans la Mer de Bering parait controler le nombre et la repartition d'Aethia pusilla qui se nourrit principalement sur ces crustaces au cours de la saison de reproduction. Des variations demographiques recentes au sein des A.p. et d'autres oiseaux marins piscivores suggere des interactions multispecifiques parmi les nombres des chaines alimentaires a base de copepodes dans la Mer de Bering
