Abstract

In this paper, we propose a novel visible light communications (VLC) system that can both achieves good performance in data transmission and environment perception. To be specific, based on the traditional VLC system, we develop a cooperative VLC scheme derived from the idea of clouding computing and machine learning. Afterwards, measurement for data transmission and algorithms for environment perception are well investigated. Then, numerical and simulation results show that the proposed VLC system achieve good performance in terms of data transmission aspect, which is shown that its bit error rate (BER) is only 10−5 when the signal to noise ratio (SNR) is set as 10 dB. In addition, experiments result also demonstrates the proposed VLC system can make high-accuracy environment detection.
