Abstract

In this work, cooling rate guiding contradictory effect of thermal treated temperature on the crystallization of PLA racemic blends upon cooling was reported. In addition, it was found that, the higher cooling rate is more favorable for the formation of stereocomplex crystals (SCs). The separation between the enantiomeric chains in the racemic melt was proposed as the reason for the contradictory effect of the thermal treated temperature on the crystallization enthalpy of PLA racemic blends upon cooling. At last, by using Flash DSC, the crystallization kinetics of PLA racemic blends after thermal treated at different temperatures were compared, and the results verified the influence of the separation between the enantiomeric chains on the contradictory effect of the thermal treated temperature.
