Abstract

1. Dianion radicals of diphenylmethyl were produced by the reduction of the potassium salt of diphenylmethane, and their EPR spectrum was studied. 2. The EPR spectrum of the dianion radical diphenylmethyl was recorded in the reaction of diphenylmethane with potassium in the absence of a solvent. 3. On the basis of the data, of Chromatographic analysis of the products of the reaction of diphenylmethane with potassium in 1,2-dimethoxyethane, we established the formation of benzene, toluene, diphenyl, and dibenzyl.
