Abstract

The human eye is a multi-layered structure consisting of different fluid-filled tissues. This is the present problem modelled as a five-layered fluid-filled porous structure for understanding convective diffusive mass transfer. The drug is introduced at the outer boundary in the form of drops or gel and allowed to diffuse through the multi-layered structure to reach the last. The physical configuration assumed is made up of five layers representing the eye modelled as a rectangular channel. A chemical reaction is considered in the governing equation. The governing equations of solute transfer are solved analytically assumed matching conditions at the interface and flux at the outer boundary. The results obtained are graphically presented.
