Abstract
In an infinite horizontal porous layer differentially heated, with an imposed through-flow, a conductive regime is observed when the filtration Rayleigh number Ra is below a critical value Ra c . Beyond the threshold, time-periodic convective flows occur. Introducing the Forchheimer's and Brinkman's corrections into the Darcy law enhances Ra c , and the two-dimensional travelling waves are studied.
