Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of finding ways to optimize the system of higher education, caused by an increase in requirements for quality training of college graduates in the rapid growth of science and technology. The author analyzes the role of controlled students` independent work in the university education process of training a new generation capable of independent creative solution of life problems. The given paper reveals the differences of such form of educational work as students` independent work and controlled students` independent work under the supervision of a teacher. Presentation is considered as one of the forms of students` knowledge assessment in the subject «Concepts of modern education». Guidelines for the presentations preparation that can effectively organize the students’ independent work are shown in the article.
