Abstract
Superhydrophobic CuZn5 and AuZn3 alloys surface has been fabricated on copper substrate via electrochemical treatment, electroless chemical deposition and annealing. The as-prepared surfaces show outstanding superhydrophobicity with WCA of 170° and WSA about 0° inexistence any organic modification. The annealing process which gives rise to the generation of alloys and ZnO, and the formation of micro-/nano- binary architectures are important for superhydrophobicity. Novel thing is that this method does not need any organic solvent as superhydrophobic layer. The as-prepared superhydrophobic CuZn5 and AuZn3 alloys surfaces display self-cleaning, anti-icing performance, corrosion and wear resistance and this may offer significant potential values for industrialized applications.
