Abstract

Aiming at the influence of stochastic volatility of wind power on the stable operation of power grid, a method based on variational mode decomposition (VMD) and hybrid energy storage system to stabilize wind power grid-connected power fluctuation is proposed. Firstly, according to the typical wind power output scenes, the VMD decomposition of the original grid-connected power of wind power. Combined with wind power grid-connected power fluctuation standards, the primary power distribution is realized.; Then the HESS primary power instruction will be given secondary modification using fuzzy control inside HESS according to the state of charge (SOC) of super capacitor, and the final HESS power distribution instruction can be determined. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively smooth the fluctuations of wind power output effectively by taking full advantages of HESS so as to keep SOC stable; the primary power instruction will be given secondary modification based on fuzzy control, ensure the SOC of HESS working within the reasonable range, extend the service life of energy storage component greatly.
