Abstract

Abstract The efficacy of selected insecticides against the soybean looper was evaluated at the Macon Ridge Branch, Northeast Research Station, Winnsboro, LA. Insecticides were applied with a tractor and CO2-pressurized sprayer calibrated to deliver 93.5 liters/ha at 2.66 kg/cm2 through X12 hollow cone nozzles. Treatments were applied 19 Aug to 'Centennial' soybean in the R3 growth stage. Plots measured 15.2 m × 4 rows with 1.02 m row spacing, and were arranged in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications. Two sets of 25 sweep samples (38.2 cm diam sweep net) per plot were taken at 2 and 7 DAT.
