Abstract

This paper deals with the boost-buck converter employed PV (Photovoltaic)panel based PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)fed variable speed compressor load for are frigeration system. An independent control for cascaded DC-DC boost-buck converter is used to achieve smooth change in mode of operation. It allows variable voltage control with reduced voltage stress across the switch under a desired voltage gain and system efficiency. The ZDC (Zero Direct Current) based vector-oriented controlis employed for the VSC (Voltage Source Converter) for speed control of non-salient pole PMSM drive. The proposed concept is validated using MATLAB simulation results. Performance of a PMSM drive is obtained under variation in solar radiation.
