Control of Pyrethroid Resistant Colorado Potato Beetle—Trial 2, 1986

Abstract

Abstract Plots were planted in early May on the Red River Valley Potato Growers Association experimental farm at Grand Forks, N. Dak. B-size certified seed was planted in 4 40-inch rows × 35-ft plots in early May. Treatments were replicated 4 times in randomized complete block design. Soil systemics were applied over the row following planting and covered with soil. The soil was fine textured and had more than adequate moisture at planting time. Foliars were applied on 26 Jun, 11 Jul, and 12 Aug. Three applications of fungicide were made independently of insecticide treatments. Larval counts were taken on 4 dates, as were defoliation estimates. The data presented illustrate CPB response to the insecticide regimes. Yields were taken on the center two plot rows, graded, and recorded.
