Abstract

Abstract Broccoli plants were transplanted on 23 May ‘88 and 21 Jul ‘89 in Storrs, Conn. Plots consisted of single 10-ft rows, separated by guard rows with 36-inch centers and 18-inch plant spacing. Treatments were replicated 4 times in 1988 and 3 times in 1989 in a randomized complete block design. A single application was applied 8 Jul ‘88 and 9 Sep ‘89 using a tractor-mounted boom with 3 flat fan nozzles/row delivering 52 gal water/acre at 30 psi. Evaluations were made on 19 Jul ‘88 and 28 Sep ‘89 by visual inspection consisting of removal of each individual leaf from 5 plants/plot and dissection of broccoli heads.
