Abstract

Abstract A nursery planting of 15-20-ft honeylocust trees located at the Colorado State University Bay Farm was used in the studies. Individual plots consisted of single trees arranged in a randomized complete block design with 5 replications. On 8 Jul and 4 Aug, trees were sprayed with a compressed air sprayer to run-off. Plots were sampled by randomly selecting 1 leaf from each cardinal point of treated trees and counting all mites on the leaflet pairs 3-5. Eriophyid mites were counted on the first evaluation date only. A severe hailstorm 3 Aug caused approximately 50% defoliation.
