Abstract

Abstract The bagworm which prefers a grass diet is an ornamental pest on walls later In the life cycle. Dipel was tested for control of the bagworms on lawns. Lawns adjacent to infested house walls were sprayed using an Ortho sprayette sprayer. Six houses were chosen randomly, and one wall from each was randomly designated a spray wall and the opposite was a control wall. Spray dates were July 3, August 3, and September 11. Bagworm infestation was initially assessed on July 3 to determine the pre-application average number of bagworms per wall and subsequent counts were post-application. Bagworms were always removed from the walls after a count and returned to the lawn area.
