Abstract
The main stages of biological wastewater treatment are studied, existing models and control of these processes are analyzed, methods for solving the system of differential equations and the disadvantages of each model when used for control purposes are shown. To find the optimal mode using models of the biological treatment process, various criteria are used. The parameters and variables of the process of biological wastewater treatment by microorganisms in aeration tanks are determined - control and exciting influences, as well as input and output quantities, and a system of differential equations connecting them is established. The feasibility of using MatLAB software for building an analytical model and its solution, and Simulink for visual modeling is shown.
