Abstract

This paper presents a new switching control scheme for curve tracking problem of automatic train operation under equipment failures. Saltatory speed profile means the abrupt change of reference trajectory of speed when equipment failures occur or removed. To ensure the safety of train operating, ATO have to adopt a reliable method. The proposed scheme holds three stages: high-speed train’s operation with no failure, deceleration and operation under speed restriction and acceleration and adjustment of position and speed after equipment failures are removed. The designed control scheme can be guaranteed to be stable in the closed-loop systems based on the Lyapunov stability analysis. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed control approach.
