Abstract

The large reversible and irreversible deformations of network polymers are examined. Expressions are derived for the stress tensor and for the conventional tensile stress. The uniaxial homogeneous extension curve has a maximum and a minimum if it is assumed that the coefficient of friction depends exponentially on the applied stress. The "necking" condition is derived for uniaxial tension. The results are compared with the experimental data.
