Abstract

Contribution to a sociology of primary inspection : student-inspectors from the Higher Training School of Saint-Cloud (1921-1974). - It seems that the prerogative of this institution settled at the top of primary education by the Third Republic is to instruct people's elite without allowing it to reach the « real » culture, as a way of limiting its promotion. Social rise of many pupils had its last step in the functions of primary inspector, training school head. The author tries to enlight some aspects of a sociology not yet well known, the sociology of primary inspectors, after informations collected among student-inspectors form the Higher Training School of Saint Cloud.
