Abstract

The paper presents the analysis results of evolution stages of the scientific research carried out and the contribution of the scientists in the development of the direction of the cultivation of shrubs species within the Institute of Scientific Research in Fruit Growing, Viticulture and Winery from Moldova (founded in 1910 on the lands of the estate Costijeni, county Chisinau). Starting with the period of 1946 year to present, more than 70% of womens scientistes-researchers from the section Selection and improvement of the fruit and shrubs were involved in scientific research in the field of fruit bushes: Dr. Dushutina Xenia (years 1946–1964), Dr. hab. Maciucova Olga (years 1958–1974), Dr. Policarpova Lilia (years 1958–1975); of the group of shrubs within the section Fruit nursery: Dr. Policarpova Lilia (year 1976–1989), Belous Nadejda (years1980–1984), Sava Parascovia (years 1982– 1984). Scientific-practical research has continued in the Shrubs crops laboratory (IP SPIHFT) from 1985 year – to present by Dr. hab. Sava Parascovia and collaboratores: Bondarenco Parascovia, Tcaci Valentina, Socolova Galina, Gheorghita Nina, Caterenciuc Cristina, Calaras Cristina, Rusnac Cristina, Gherasimova Elena. Throughout the development period of the Institute, the scientific and practical research was carried out regarding the study and creation of varieties, improvement, modernization and implementation of technologies for the fruits production and nursery. During the research period the scientiste: Dushutina Xenia, were created 4 new strawberry varieties (Mergeli, Frumusica, Orighinalinaia and Chishiniovscaia), was selected one local strawberry variety – Moldovanka, and one local raspberry variety – Chishiniovscaia. At the same time, Dushutina Xenia studied more the 300 strawberry and raspberry varieties; Maciucova Olga – studied over 200 varieties of raspberry, currant, gooseberry; Policarpova Lilia – studied over 200 varieties of strawberry, raspberry, currant, gooseberry; Sava Parascovia and her collaboratores studied over 200 varieties of 14 shrubs species, and the obtained results contributed essentially to the development of the shrubs sector in the Republic of Moldova.
