Abstract

Machine Translation (MT) and Computer Aided Translation (CAT) are interrelated but different in nature. This paper, after introducing the working mechanism of both kinds of systems, compares and contrasts them systematically from the perspective of their designs, application scopes and translation engines, hoping to make the users understand the distinguished features and choose appropriate systems for their translation of didderent nature.
