Abstract
A continuum generalization of the multilens model of thermal blooming is presented for use with Gaussian beams and uniform elliptical beams for which diffraction is ignored. Comparisons are made with a more elaborate thermal- blooming code. A return-wave analysis is also presented with special attention paid to considerations of reciprocity.
