Abstract

MATLAB/Simulink was come across as a software platform, communication system tool box, RF tool box, and signal processing tool box were utilized for the design of Continuous Wave (CW) radar system and measured the signal power and processing gain of the system. Linear and non-linear transmitter and receiver systems considered for the study of the CW radar. CW radar system and its mathematical model built using MATLAB/Simulink. In the simulation model, core components of CW radar, including pulse width generator, linear and non-linear RF transmitter and receiver, antenna model, digital filter, and novel overlap add approach designed and simulated. In the classical technique, huge computation is required to extract the information from the target. CW radar is simple and straight forward technique motivate to use is the main contribution of this research work. A novel overlap add filter method is used and simulated. The performance of the designed CW radar system, modeled structure, and analysis of results given for the linear and non-linear transmitter and receiver. The performance of CW radar system in various conditions could be evaluated to find the different parameters, such as path loss, transmitter power, and receiver power in the presence and absence of phase noise.
