Abstract

Coca-Cola Bottlers (Ulster) Ltd manufactures and distributes a world-renowned range of brand soft drinks in glass, plastic and cans. Its market position is number 1 in Northern Ireland, with 51% of the overall market. In order to sustain competitiveness and profitability the company has embarked on a process of introducing world-class performance methodologies, standards and targets in all key aspects of the business. The company already has ISO 9000 accreditation and has won the Coca-Cola Quality Award for the past 10 years. The overall measure of effectiveness for improvement initiatives will be assessed by use of the European Quality Award, which provides for a comprehensive, systematic and regular review of an organization's activities and results.
