Abstract

In this work was investigated the possibility of realization of severe plastic deformation with active friction forces through a continuous constrained bending based on the ECAP Conform process. The process of two-stage continuous constrained bending was simulated in grooved rolls for long size deformable copper alloy rods. A virtual decision has been proposed for a new continuous bending scheme with two zones of severe plastic deformation performed by two grooved rolls (feeding and output) and a bending channel with a roller between them. The accumulated degree and the non-uniformity of the effective strains in the deformed work-piece during the different stages of the process realization were analysed. A relationship between the diameter of continuous bending (the diameter of the bending channel with a roller) and the degree of accumulated effective strains was established.
