Abstract
A formulation for determining the mechanics of continuous single-pass four-roll thin plate bending is proposed by considering the equilibrium of the internal and external bending moment at and about the plate-top roll contact, and the various boundary conditions at the contacts of the individual rollers, then by separating the continuous bending sequence into the stages of edge bending preparation; steady continuous bending with either the initially active side roll or the initially inactive side roll operative.
