Abstract

Immediate postabortion provision of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) is important for reducing repeat unplanned pregnancy. There is concern that women who receive an immediate postabortion etonogestrel implant may have higher discontinuation rates than women undergoing interval insertions. The objective of this study was to compare 12-month continuation between women undergoing immediate postabortion and interval placements of the implant.
