Abstract

At the present stage of social economic development of Russia, the problem of fire safety of large and economically important regions is of particular relevance. Currently, fires in Irkutsk region are one of the most frequently implemented emergencies (98%) having a negative impact on the economy, increasingly threatening human lives and health. The paper presents social characteristics of the region, as well as the types and the number of technosphere facilities located in the Baikal region, forming a potential danger of fires. According to the results of the short-term analysis for 2013-2018 based on the methods of social and mathematical statistics, the main indicators of consequences are assessed: the number of fires, destroyed buildings, direct damage, deaths and injuries in Irkutsk region, cities, and rural areas. Causes of fires and their consequences were analyzed. The consequences of fires were analyzed. The results of studies on the number of fires, deaths by days, months, hours were presented. Consequences of fires in the administrative-territorial formations of Irkutsk region were assessed.
