Abstract
In Latvia state and municipal institutions document and archive management is strictly regulated. Regularly are made additions and innovations. In recent years actually discussion about the digitization of documents and information into electronic form, but part of the law does not apply to organizations. Nowadays in Latvia is a situation in which private organizations (in witch are not strictly monitored documents and archives management) can’t save documents that provides any specific information. This information can bring legal consequences and it is probable that future researchers may have undisclosed information such a areas research, influential person biography, etc. Very important is analyze the country regulated laws, available literature and use possibilities provided by technologies to make easier your documents and archives organization.
