Abstract

The article describes various processes of the manufacture of titanium dioxide, or titania, with two methods, viz. chlorination and sulphatization, presented. The detailed description of the features, advantages and existing submethods of the chlorination method and its comparison with the sulphatization method are given. High-frequency induction oxygen plasma submethod has been considered the most prospective in the manufacture of titanium dioxide.
