Abstract
Thin stainless steel sheets with a thickness of 0.4 mm are mainly used in the white goods sector and are subject to high demands in terms of economy and optical quality. In order to meet these requirements, thin stainless steel sheets are deep drawn using thin foils. The use of foils leads to a high environmental impact as well as to further cost-intensive process steps. For the substitution of these foils it is necessary to find a suitable tribosystem consisting of tool material, coating and lubricant, which enables the production of good parts. A dedicated investigation of the influence of the tool material, coating and lubricant on the coefficient of friction and damage of the components in the process has not yet been carried out. The aim of the research is the transferability of the influence of the tool material, coating and lubricant on the coefficient friction on an analogy test bench onto a real process as well as the explanation of the mechanisms of action during deep drawing of real components.
