Abstract
With the help of the thermodynamic quantities just reported, the spectrophotometric properties of the contact charge-transfer complexes of iodine with saturated hydrocarbon solvents such as cyclohexane, methylcyclohexane and heptane have been calculated from the u.v. spectra of iodine in these solvents. Both the thermodynamic and spectrophotometric properties of these complexes are free from the interaction of other solvents.
