Abstract
Objetivo: Determinar el consumo y dependencia de licor y cigarrillo en trabajadores obreros del sector construcción. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo de corte transversal en 186 trabajadores de la construcción en Santander, Colombia. Los participantes contestaron el Alcohol Use Disorders Inventory Test (AUDIT) y el test Fargerstrom para consumo de cigarrillo. Resultados: El promedio de edad fue de 34,8 años. Entre los encuestados, 62% reportaron consumir licor y en cuanto al puntaje AUDIT, 71,5% se ubicaron en zona I, 26,8% en zona II y 1,6% en zona III. Por último, 23% de los trabajadores reportaron ser consumidores de cigarrillo y de ellos, 2,33% (n=1) tenía dependencia moderada en su consumo. Conclusiones: El consumo de licor (62%) y cigarrillo (23%) fue alto en este sector laboral. Si bien, no se detectaron cifras de dependencia elevadas, es importante desde la prevención primaria en salud generar conciencia sobre las repercusiones a nivel personal y laboral del abuso del alcohol y cigarrillo.
