Abstract

This paper proposes a new method of constructing S-box based on parametric mixing of chaotic maps. The proposed method employs two 1-D Logistic maps and a 2-D Henon map. The pseudo random sequence is generated by mixing X and Y sequences of Henon map and the selection of X and Y sequence is based on two Logistic maps. The mixed chaotic sequence is used to generate S-box. The performance analysis of the proposed S-box generation method is carried out based on criteria such as bijective property, nonlinearity, strict avalanche criterion, bit independence criterion and differential probability. The proposed method is comparable to existing methods and achieves superior differential probability.
