Abstract
An octahedral CoO@CoS composite structure was dexterously designed and prepared via a facile two-step synthesis strategy. CoO@CoS composite photocatalysts displayed the uniform heterostructure between CoS nanoparticles and octahedral CoO. The photocatalytic performance of CoO@CoS composite material presented a significant improvement for degradation of tetracycline in comparison to nude CoO. The improved photocatalytic performance is primarily because the incorporation of CoS nanoparticles can enhance photo-absorption ability of octahedral CoO, and promote the transfer and separation of photo-generated charge carriers. Our work provides an efficacious and universal synthesis protocol to fabricate the efficient composite photocatalysts for photocatalytic applications.
