Construction of Information Literacy Education System in Application Oriented Universities Under the Internet Environment

Abstract

Every application-oriented talent should have information literacy as an “element support”. Although “information literacy” has been put forward for a long time in China, it has not been paid as much attention to the cultivation of College Students’ information literacy as some developed countries. Although China has promulgated some rules, there is no clear policy, especially the application-oriented universities are more likely to ignore the information literacy education for students. This paper expounds the importance of information literacy and suggests that application-oriented universities should make full use of the advantages of the Internet to build a flexible and diverse information literacy education system. Application oriented universities should set up the idea of constructing information literacy education system, constantly broaden the ways of information literacy education, formulate effective certification standards and methods of information literacy, and actively improve information literacy and comprehensive ability of college students, so as to cultivate more excellent application-oriented talents.
