Abstract
In the era of network, college students are not only the recipients and users of learning resources, but also the processors and creators. Signals and Systems is a fundamental course in communication and electronic information, which, however, is often felt to be abstract. In combination with the Students’ Development project in the Information Technology to Change Teaching and Learning Action Plan in Sun Yat-sen University, we built a demo software for teaching and learning Signals and Systems, which takes advantage of the rich and friendly graphical user interface provided by MATLAB. This software helps to illustrate abstract content of the course in an intuitive way. It can be executed independently of the MATLAB software. Through design and development of the learning resources, the students participating in this project have also deepened their understanding of this course. They have also become familiar with software development in practice, which strengthened their professional competence.
