Abstract
Abstract : The objective of this effort was to construct a pulsed corona discharge capability for conducting investigations into the destruction of noxious combustion products from jet engines and ground support equipment. As the first step in the investigations, a pulsed corona discharge system consisting of a high-voltage AC power supply, a rotating spark gap and pulse-forming electronic components, and stainless steel pulsed corona reactor was built and commissioned. This report documents the design, construction, and operation of the reactor. Results of specific investigations into the effects of the pulsed corona reactor on various waste streams will be documented in separate reports.
