Abstract

A novel two-dimensional zinc-based coordinated polymer was successfully synthesized with the assistance of solvothermal method, which named as {Zn(HL)(H2O)2}n (1) (Where H3L = 4-(2,4-dicarboxylphenyl)picolinic acid). Under visible light, the coordination polymer exhibits excellent photocatalytic properties and can effectively eliminate organic dyes such as rhodamine B (Rh B) and methyl orange (MO) from aqueous solutions. In addition, to explore the photocatalytic mechanism, the radical-active species in the photocatalytic reaction process were analyzed with the assistance of three different radical trapping agents, and the in-depth mechanisms was discussed with the contribution of density functional theory calculations.
