Abstract
1. A displacement reducer based on the cantilever principle provides an excellent solution to problems of measuring linear displacements with a resolving power of hundredths and thousandths of a micron. This system may be used for testing and calibrating displacement converters and measuring devices and studying the operation of electrical contacts. 2. Apparatus based on this principle may take various technological forms, and this opens a wide field of possibilities for the engineer.
