Abstract

In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the environmental impact of substation operation noise. Therefore, a suitable noise prediction model is needed to evaluate the noise impact. The noise in the substation mainly comes from the main transformer. The predictions of the main transformer noise model in the existing technical specifications often do not correspond to the actual situation. Therefore, based on the theory of planar Nearfield Acoustical Holography (NAH) equivalent source approach, a new transformer noise prediction model called the main transformer noise model of the directional dot-matrix equivalent source is established. Using this model, a typical 500 kV substation is simulated in Cadna/A, and the results are compared with the simulation values and measured data of the existing standard main trans-former noise model. The comparison shows that the new prediction model can accurately predict the noise value of the substation, and the error is less than 2 dB(A).
