Abstract

Computer-assisted instruction (CAI) and simulation programs may be easily designed to handle controversial issues where more than one point of view must be conveyed. This article describes how to construct a computerized debate to simulate economics controversies, using public-domain and shareware programs. With minor modifications, the algorithm may be utilized to teach controversies in sociology, psychology, political science, and business classes.
