His published work deals with the music of Beethoven, Paganini, Schubert, John Cage, Paul Lansky, and others. A former reviews editor of Music Theory Online and contributor to the forthcoming second edition of the Grove Dictionary of America Music, he has twice been a Fellow of the Mannes Summer Institute.
