Abstract
The unripe fruits of Solatium torvum S w. were found to contain one steroidal alkaloid glycoside, solasonine (I), which was characterised through hydrolysis to solasodine. The neutral glycoside fraction afforded, after hydrolysis, one steroid sapogenin identified as chlorogenin (II).
