Abstract

In MIMO radar, due to the inaccuracy of the prior information, the waveform designed according to the prior information can not meet the need of parameter estimation. A method of constant envelope robust waveform design for MIMO radar based on maximum mutual information (MI) criterion is proposed for this problem. Firstly, under the condition that the estimation errors of power spectral density of the target impulse response (TIR) and that of noise are both bounded, an optimization model is constructed, which treats maximizing the MI of target with the corresponding received echo as the objective function, and treats the emission energy as the constraint condition. Finally, Gaussian randomization method is used to obtain the desired constant envelope robust waveform according to the obtained power spectral density, which improves the parameter estimation performance of the MIMO radar system in the worst case. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
