Abstract

An exploratory survey of participants in the AMA Doctoral Consortium was conducted to inquire into both the amount of exposure that doctoral students are receiving to marketing and society topics and their degree of interest in these topics. Results suggest that (1) exposure to and training in these topics is very limited; (2) interest in these topics is greater than might be expected; (3) awareness of related conferences and journals needs to be increased; and (4) a more representative survey, similar to the exploratory survey, would provide useful information.
